WISBECH IN BLOOM
Wisbech in Bloom is a campaign run by a small group of volunteers aimed at improving permanent planting, floral displays and environmental cleanliness in Wisbech town centre and the surrounding industrial, retail and residential areas.
Wisbech in Bloom, which is a sub group of Wisbech and District Tourism Development Group, has been in existence for around twenty years. The group works in partnership with Fenland District Council, Wisbech Town Council, Wisbech Chamber of Commerce, local schools, residents and businesses to bring together its annual entry in the Anglia in Bloom competition.
2008 was the most successful so far for Wisbech in the Anglia in Bloom competition.
Wisbech achieved a GOLD AWARD and was the winner of the BEST LARGE TOWN in the Anglia region.
Wisbech was voted the MOST IMPROVED ENTRY in 2008
Wisbech was also nominated for projects in the Grow your Own category, Best Public Open Space and Best Young Persons project.
As a result of these excellent results, Wisbech has been nominated to represent the Anglia Region in the Large Town category of Britain in Bloom in 2009
